THE WINTER CASE FOR BUILTMORE 1
Big groups in the Smokies usually split up for the holidays. Two cabins, two driveways, half the family texting the other half about dinner. Builtmore 1 keeps everyone together: one house, five levels and enough beds that nobody draws the short straw.
Cold weather is the point here, not the problem. The pool is indoors and heated, so a grey January afternoon is still a swim afternoon. After a day on the slopes at Ober Mountain, the hot tubs and the fire pit are waiting, and the rooftop looks straight across at the ski slopes.
LEVEL BY LEVEL
Main level: vaulted great room and fireplace, chef kitchen and island, two dining tables, the movie lounge and a powder room.

Level 2: three guest bedrooms with built-in bunks, one with its own ensuite bath, plus a large hall bath and a laundry room.
Level 1: the game room and bunk suite, with three built-in bunks, pool table, foosball and shuffleboard.

GOOD TO KNOW
The house sits high on the mountain and the drive up is steep, which is how you get the view. Plan your vehicle for a mountain road, especially in winter, and message us before arrival if you have questions about the climb. Fresh linens, towels and starter toiletries are provided; bring your own cooking oil and spices.
Guest Access:
Check-in is fully self-service: a keypad on the front door gives you a unique code valid for your entire stay, so there's no key pickup and no coordinating arrival times. Once you're in, the whole house is yours — the indoor pool, both hot tubs, the game room, the rooftop deck, and every living space are open to all guests for the full reservation. A few closets are locked and reserved for owner and housekeeping supplies; these are the only spaces off-limits.
The Neighborhood:
Builtmore 1 sits above downtown Gatlinburg with the Ober Mountain ski slopes as your backdrop — close enough to walk into the action, far enough to still hear the fire pit crackle over the Parkway noise.
