Welcome to Your Maui Retreat: Perched on the top floor (4th floor) with an elevated ceiling, this West Maui retreat offers spectacular views of the Pacific and the neighboring islands of Lanai and Molokai, with unforgettable sunsets painting the sky each evening. During whale season, you can often spot humpbacks breaching right from your balcony. The open living and dining areas are designed to make the most of the oceanfront setting, creating a relaxed, comfortable space to gather after a day in the sun. Inside, the condo features a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing meals to enjoy with an ocean backdrop, along with two full bathrooms for added comfort and privacy. The primary bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom, while the second bedroom and bath provide plenty of space for family or friends. Conveniently located near the world-renowned shores of Kaanapali Beach and just a short drive to Napili and Kapalua, you'll have easy access to some of West Maui's best beaches, dining, and island adventures.

After celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with a 10-night oceanfront stay on Maui, we fell in love with the island and began visiting three or four times a year. Over the next seven years, we searched for the right place to call our own. When we finally walked into Nohonani 401, the location, views, and layout immediately felt perfect. Great place, we had a short time there, but it was exactly what we needed.

The good news is that the location is great and the grounds were well kept (especially given the age of the property). However, we did experience some unfortunate situations in this unit that were 100% avoidable. Lack of communication from the owner prior to check in regarding the broken washing machine (when we notified the point of contact, the owner reached out and apologized but no recompense was offered--only a solution that we would need to use the laundromat on property); failure to address a major safety concern with the pool (cover on the water intake was missing and had been missing for a couple of months, according to the property manager); and a significant lack of attention to cleanliness of the condo (dirty dishes and silverware in cabinet, dirty refrigerator, dirty shower doors, filthy window louvers, etc.) contributed to a less than desirable experience with this unit.
Despite these challenges, we enjoyed our vacation--it's Maui, after all. We will return to Maui soon, but we will not stay in this unit.
