Welcome to a light-filled, renovated one-bedroom English basement just 2 blocks from the heart of H Street NE — one of DC’s best neighborhoods for food, nightlife, and everyday city living.
Unlike most basement apartments, this one doesn’t feel like one. Nearly 8-foot ceilings and full-size windows and doors bring in real natural light throughout the day, making the space feel open, airy, and genuinely comfortable.
Private by design. The apartment has its own dedicated front and rear entrances, completely separate from the unit above. No shared hallways, no shared spaces — just your own private retreat in the middle of the city. Keyless entry means you’re never fumbling for keys or worried about losing them.
Your kitchen, your linens, your home. The apartment is fully stocked with kitchen essentials, bathroom amenities, and all linens — towels, washcloths, sheets, and blankets included.
The neighborhood is half the experience. H Street is 2 blocks away, lined with acclaimed restaurants, and lively bars. Union Market and La Cosecha — two of DC’s favorite food and outdoor hangout destinations — are a short walk away. And there 7 grocery stores within a mile if you’d rather cook!

• Maketto — Pan-Asian street food in one of DC’s coolest indoor/outdoor spaces; great for a casual lunch or dinner
• Toki Underground — DC’s most beloved ramen spot; expect a wait on weekends, but worth every minute
• Granville Moore’s — Cozy Belgian beer hall with excellent mussels and an impressive draft list
• Tapori — Lively Indian street food and tropical cocktails from the team behind Daru; think Mumbai markets meets Bollywood energy with dishes like dosa, momos, and inventive “Indian-ish” drinks

The apartment was clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive when I had a question. Parking outside was plentiful. Bonus: there’s a park just around the block, which my kids loved. Brand new washer and dryer. Pull out sofa is just a fold down futon. Not terribly uncomfortable, but not a sofa bed. Overall, a great place to stay.
