Just steps from the Bar Harbor pier, this curated downtown retreat offers the ultimate island convenience: a dedicated, free parking spot in the heart of town. Leave the car behind and enjoy unparalleled walkability to every boutique, five-star restaurant, and trailhead in the village. Whether you are here for the rugged Acadia peaks or the coastal tides, A Little Mad Stay provides a seamless blend of bold aesthetic charm and effortless village access. Located behind the beloved A Little Mad Shop, this private retreat is a hidden gem for travelers who want to park their car once and explore the best of Bar Harbor on foot.
You'll be a 2 min stroll from the ocean, Agamont Park and the pier, making it easy to enjoy the salt air, local cafes, restaurants and shopping before returning to your cozy hideaway.
A Little Mad Stay is designed to be the perfect retreat for hikers and explorers with everything right at your doorstep. The ground floor serves as the social hub with a kitchen, dining and living area, while the upper level is dedicated to rest and relaxation.
LIVING AND ENTERTAINING
The main level features an intimate living area designed for relaxation after a long day on the trails with a comfortable plush sofa and inviting armchairs ideal for curling up with a good book.
Keep entertained with a smart TV equipped with Apple TV, perfect for a movie night in or to binge your favorite series.
KITCHEN AND DINING
The full kitchen provides everything needed to prepare meals at home, including a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster and a fully stocked coffee bar.
A dining table with seating for four is situated near the heart of the kitchen, creating a social space for morning coffee or a place to catch up over dinner. Easily stock up with supplies from Hannaford supermarket, a short walk or a two-minute drive away, making it easy to utilize the full functionality of the cooking space.
BEDROOMS AND BATHROOM
Both bedrooms and the full bathroom are located on the second floor, accessible via a set of interior stairs. Each bedroom is thoughtfully furnished with a queen size memory foam mattress and high-quality white linens to ensure premium sleep quality.
The full bathroom is centrally located on the upper level between the bedrooms and is stocked with soft, high quality terry towels and essential toiletries. This vertical separation between the living and sleeping areas provides added privacy for small families or couples traveling together.

Your comfort is prioritized with modern mini split systems located in every room, providing both cooling and heating at the touch of a button. For the convenience of our guests, a washer and dryer are located within the cottage. Guests can enjoy two distinct outdoor areas during their stay. The lower entrance deck offers a private spot with seating to enjoy the morning air, while the upper balcony provides a quiet vantage point.

Loved our visit at A Little Mad Stay! The location is great with easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the Shore Path. Off street parking is a definite perk and even more so in high season. The space is welcoming with comfortable beds and access to an outdoor seating area. Would love to visit again. Be sure to check out the A Little Mad shop while you’re there - best shop in town!

We had such an incredible stay at A Little Mad Stay. It truly exceeded our expectations in every way.
The location is unbeatable. We parked when we arrived and didn’t need the car again. Everything in Bar Harbor is just steps away. Having a dedicated off-street parking spot was such a huge bonus and made everything feel easy from the moment we arrived.
It’s also incredibly close to Acadia National Park, which made getting in and out for hikes and exploring so convenient.
The apartment itself is so comfortable and thoughtfully put together. We slept amazingly well every night. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the whole space feels quiet, cozy, and relaxing after a full day out.
We especially loved having meals together at the table. It became one of our favorite parts of the day. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy being there.
Everything was clean, well cared for, and exactly as described, if not better. You can tell a lot of intention has gone into creating a space where guests feel at ease.
It really is the perfect mix of convenience and retreat. Right in the middle of everything, yet peaceful when you come home.
We would absolutely stay here again without hesitation.
