Lovely staff and lovely hotel

My view!

The spa facilities are excellent, a really relaxing atmosphere in the 'grotto' with hot tubs and saunas. Not too busy when I went late morning even though it was the weekend. The room although small for a single was well provisioned with a Nespresso machine, mini fridge, complementary gin and tonic and bottled water. Good shower. The bed itself was extremely comfy especially for a single bed. The location is perfect, a 10-15 min walk from the train station, then you're right on the beach front. There is Shelter Hall right across the road which was great for food and drinks, and it's only a 10 min walk to Brighton Pier.

Confusing pricing over the spa facilities, it felt a bit strange/mean that I had to pay an extra £10 per day just because I booked through booking.com which isn't made clear when booking, why not just factor that into the room price? The policy also seemed to differ depending on which staff were working in the spa each day which was confusing. There was a very loud constant humming sound in the room coming from some industrial equipment outside the window, which sounded just like bass thumping from a nightclub. It was possible to sleep through thankfully, but the window could definitely do with providing better sound insulation. Reading through the previous reviews they're clearly using AI to leave generic replies, which is very disappointing. It would be much nicer to see that a human is actually reading these reviews and taking some actions from the feedback.

Great location. Our room was great. The check in staff were great, I think the receptionist was called Michaela when we checked in. The breakfasts were great and the spa was lovely.
