About this house rental

Las Tunas is a private beachfront home in Telchac Puerto, designed for guests seeking comfort, space, and tranquility. Surrounded by more than 300 coconut trees, the house and its private pool sit on a spacious property with open views of the dunes and the Gulf of Mexico—no wall-to-wall neighbors, just nature and sea.

This is not a typical rental property; it is a well-loved home, thoughtfully furnished with comfortable sofas, beds, and inviting living spaces. On your arrival day, a hot, home-cooked meal will be waiting for you, allowing you to settle in and relax from the moment you arrive.

The home features three air-conditioned bedrooms, including a master bedroom with two queen beds and an ensuite bathroom, a second bedroom with two twin beds, and a third bedroom with a king-size bed. A large, fully equipped kitchen with ocean views, an indoor living and dining area, and outdoor terrace lounges create ideal spaces for gathering and unwinding.

Telchac Puerto is a small, quiet, and friendly fishing village, perfect for travelers looking for a peaceful and uncrowded destination. The beaches are ideal for long walks and year-round swimming in clean, calm Gulf waters, free of rocks and strong currents. Guests enjoy ceiling fans throughout the home, air conditioning in the bedrooms, and an electricity allowance of 15 kW per day.

An international airport is located in Mérida with direct flights from Houston, Miami, and Mexico City, and many guests choose to fly into Cancún and drive approximately four hours. Having a car is recommended for a more comfortable stay.

Our prices include all fees—no hidden charges.

Please note: the property is not available in July, August, or the week before and after Easter.

We had a fabulous 14-day stay. The house and property are exactly as advertised. Judy was excellent, in sharing a colourful guide to Telchac Puerto prior to our arrival, to sending a pic of Francisco the property caretaker (so you know who you're greeting), to making sure the hot meal provided on our first night met any dietary restrictions. The hot meal was wonderful and more than enough for the two of us for a few meals. Beds and furniture were comfy and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you are used to at home. Honestly, the whole house is equipped with everything you need and it feels like a home away from home because it is one. Towels (lots!), shampoo, bodywash, games, cooking oils, coffee, ice were all there for us on arrival. Francisco was such a gem, and without perfect English manages to make sure your stay and everything in the house is running smoothly for you! Roll with the punches and ebbs and flows here. This is not Canada or the US with unlimited resources. The wifi can be spotty on occasion, there is not unlimited water on demand, the entire town may suffer a power outage for most of a day (as it did when we were there), and there will be mosquitos. Such is life. None of these things are controllable. Respect your resources available, and don't let any lack skew your stay at a very welcoming and lovely home - and have fun!Lastly, I would say that apart from the sand potentially, I see this house as accessible and mobility device friendly.

Our family was looking for a place away from the crowds and on the water. We found one in Judy’s home. She was always there for tips on good places to shop and eat. Francisco, the caretaker, was very friendly and always had a smile for us. Though we didn’t know much Spanish, he was really good with Google translate. The house itself had everything we needed to cook our meals. What impressed me was there were several ways to make a good cup of coffee! And, as I told Judy, the home had a very relaxing vibe to it. It was just what our family was looking for. Thank you Judy, for sharing!

The pictures don’t do it justice. Everything from the beach to the pool were perfect. Judy is a wealth of information and made the who process seamless. When we got the Francisco took it from there. Regular cleanings, we got him to prepare food for us a few times and we were never disappointed. He lives at the front of the property but you never really see him. We found it easy to find even late at night. Lots of options for food also. We will be back very soon. We have stayed in a lot of vrbo’s and this was one of the best.

We've stayed in this (sleepy, beautiful) area of the Yucatan a few times and Judy's place is by far the most well-kept, magical home we've booked. From the lentil (we're vegetarian) dinner that met us when we arrived, and Francisco's attention and kindness throughout, to the private, lovely outdoor space -- every detail was so thoughtful. Judy is a great communicator and ambassador for the region. We had Christmas here with our grown kids -- very special memory for us. Francisco even gave us a box of shell decorations for a branch tree. Thanks for an amazing break in this wonderful part of Mexico.
