The house sleeps six in three comfortable sleeping spaces. Surrounded by incredible hiking, bike trails, dozens of breathtaking waterfalls, & several pristine lakes, this natural gem is just 40 minutes from Downtown Asheville, North Carolina.
The Space:
Timberroot is a small, family-owned business that specializes in creating rustic spaces that allow you to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature. Our three separate Land of Falls properties are nestled deep in the Smoky Mountain foothills and provide a serene setting with spectacular views.
Lost Cove Lodge is in a quiet, gated community on an easily navigated paved road. The house is surrounded by dense forest, offering you complete privacy while enjoying the spectacular views. We've created multiple outdoor living spaces to make the most of this beautiful setting in any season. Dine outside rain or shine on the covered deck with ceiling fans, stargaze while you soak in the luxurious open-air hot tub, then lose yourself into the night as you tell stories fireside by the rustic stone fire pit.
The home is perfect for your romantic weekend or family holiday, with a delightful kitchen and three comfortable sleeping areas.
The house is within walking distance to Lake Logan, just 10 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and is attached to an extensive trail network that winds along the ridge overlooking the lake and provides stunning views before dropping you down to the shore.
Guest Access:
You'll have the entire home and property to yourself during your stay. Lost Cove Lodge shares a private road with several other homes, please be respectful of our neighbors during your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Tucked in the Great Smoky Mountains just 20 minutes from Asheville, Canton is a historic mill town on the Pigeon River with the Blue Ridge Parkway at its doorstep. Nearby trails lead to Graveyard Fields, Shining Rock Wilderness, and swimming holes like Skinny Dip Falls and Sunburst Falls, while the Pigeon River offers fishing, kayaking, and tubing right through town. Downtown Canton's Main Street — listed on the National Register of Historic Places — has local shops, cafes, and the historic Colonial Theater. For day trips, Asheville is 27 minutes away and Pisgah National Forest is about 30.
Fall is prime time in Canton. The Blue Ridge Parkway turns into one of the best leaf-peeping drives in the country from mid-October into November, with Graveyard Fields and Sunburst Falls especially worth the stop. Downtown Main Street stays lively with local shops and cafes, and Waynesville's Apple Harvest Festival, a short drive away, rounds out the season with local vendors and live music.
Getting Around:
Lost Cove Lodge is nestled deep in the Smoky Mountain foothills, about 40 minutes from Asheville, North Carolina. To make the most of your stay, a personal vehicle is required. The property is on a private, gated road.
Uber and other rideshare services may be available from Asheville, but this is not guaranteed.

Cellular coverage at Lost Cove Lodge and the surrounding area is extremely spotty. We highly recommend saving your check-in instructions offline. Once you arrive, you'll be able to connect to the home's high speed internet.

No Smoking:
Smoking, vaping, and the use of e-cigarettes are prohibited inside Timberroot properties.

We really enjoyed the stay at the cabin. Specifics and feedback. The hot tub was large and comfortable and clean. The deck was great and so was the fire pit. We loved the games and videos that were available! There were several excellent hikes within 15 minutes of the cabin on Lake Logan Dr.
There was plenty of closet, space, shampoo and conditioner, and soap
Things I would change: we weren’t able to use the fireplace because of the smell of gas when it was lit. We learned this the first night, and the service person came out immediately to support us . when we turned it on while he was there it didn’t smell very much and he checked, and there was a full tank of gas. Unfortunately, though when we tried again the smell returned, so we just left it off and this was sort of sad.
I would recommend to place a rubber floor mat in the bath tubs as it’s very slippery. I felt I may fall.
We recommend to beef up some of the kitchen items, cooking items, such as measuring, spoons, cups, and an improved coffee pot.
The Internet was spotty. Also, I would label which light switches light what room. I had to spend a lot of time turning lights switch switch is on and off!
Overall, it was a very nice day and a very nice cabin. The location was great thank you!

The stay was pleasant. The view was good from the hot tub and gazebo. Check-in was easy.

The house was great...clean and all provided necessary items for great convenience. However, hot tub was smaller than the one in the picture and no grill as stated in the ad. Didnt like that we were charged extra for people over 4...that wasn't advertised. Also had issues with gate code working. Other than that, it was a great stay and really clean and comfortable.
