Though we rented the cabin thinking we were bringing our dogs, it ended up just being us two. It was a wonderful and relaxing getaway. Just what we needed. The cabin was absolutely wonderful and it's so convenient between Brevard and Waynesville. It had everything we needed, well stocked and beautifully maintained.

Check-in process was a breeze. The back porch was wonderful and you can hear the river. Short walk down the river was nice, we took a chair down and enjoyed the sounds of the water. Six people we never ran out of hot water and that's saying something with all the showers in the evening. Also the kitchen is well stocked.

This house was exactly what we needed- quick access to the falls/sliding rock, and the fun breweries in brevard. The best part was the creek out back that we played in. The house was great. Couldn’t find the AC unit for upstairs, only a box fan, so it was extremely hot upstairs. But the kids and dog loved it. I’m glad I read about the neighbors so I wasn’t surprised by how close they were. Was not a problem as we were gone most of the day anyway. Thank you!

This cabin is incredible and the entire process from check in to check out was effortless! We are already planning a return trip and the Terrapin Lodge will be our go to mountain getaway. The fire pit and proximity to the river were a huge plus and the cabin provides a cozy haven for relaxation. We traveled with two small children and they loved everything about this property. We can’t wait to get back! Well done!

We vacation every year to see the change of the leaves. This was a fantastic cabin and location! It was a great central location to many of the hikes we went on and also to downtown Asheville. The kids loved the fire pit for roasting marshmallows and the nearby river. The house has everything you need! And everything is labeled and so easy to find. Comfortable and cozy! It was the perfect cabin for our family trip!

We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. The cabin was exactly as pictured. It was amazing to hear the river while sitting out on the porch. This cabin was in the PERFECT location — right off the road that connects to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We went to the Cradle of Forestry, the BRP, and enjoyed playing around the cabin. It was such a fun bonus that there was a toy box!

The pictures online do not do Terrapin Lodge justice. My husband and I needed to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax and this cabin was the PERFECT place to do that. We spent most of our time on the porch where we listened to the river nearby, watched the birds and cooked on the grill. We also loved the fact that our very active Golden Retrievers had a fenced in yard that they could run around in. The campfire was awesome to make s’mores and then relaxing in the hot tub and watching Parks & Rec was a perfect way to end the night. Traveling from Florida, I brought a lot of unnecessary things that the cabin provided, it was honestly a home away from home and we cannot wait to stay there again!

This property was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed ourselves. really loved the cabin feel. It was about -1 degrees and it was no problem because the cabin had plenty of heat to keep us warm. there were a few little stink bugs in the two bedrooms to the top, however, it wasn't a bother. this place was very clean. i would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a real cabin feel.

The property is just as it looks in the photos. Very clean, beautiful property. The water being so close was perfect. We were unable to log in to Wi-Fi at all, but outside on the back deck we were able to get a signal. I would definitely stay again given the opportunity.
