It was so cozy, very clean, had everything we needed, beautifully decorated. The fireplace was lovely & warmed the whole living area so quickly. The cottage is situated on such a beautiful property.

The location of the property is excellent. It’s very central and although the sat nav didn’t pick up the address, it does pick up the royal hotel, which is literally 50m around the corner. Plenty of restaurants/bars are within easy walking distance (just remember to take a torch for use on the dirt road outside the property as there are no street lights). The property has everything you need for a short stay, with the added bonus of a hot-tub; although we didn’t actually use this feature as it takes 90 minutes to pre-heat, and we were never around enough to do this. There is secure parking right outside, and despite being so close to the centre, the accommodation is quiet and peaceful. The owners were quick to attend to an issue with the Wi-Fi (stolen cable, so beyond their control) and even left us some snacks and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. There is a pool, but not sure whether this is for use of guests.

There’s not much to not like about the property…..the garden is well established, so the living area is shaded making the property perhaps a little dark in winter, but this would be a welcome relief in the summer heat. Check out is perhaps a little too early for some, being at 1000hrs. There was no soap or shampoo provided in the bathroom which is unusual (so bring your own or be prepared to buy some), but to be fair, the booking terms and conditions do reflect this. The property is typical South African build, meaning it will get colder as the sun falls, but heaters are provided to combat this. The bathroom does not have an extractor fan, which is essential to avoid condensation building up, particularly if it’s too cold to open windows.
