I loved the magical surroundings, the peace and quiet, and the privacy; the view of the lake in the evening is amazing. The owner is a wonderful woman with incredible hospitality, culinary skills, and a big heart. This is authentic Sri Lanka, and the price was great.
It’s a bit far from Tangale and the beach, but if you’re looking for a quiet spot where you won’t be bothered by crowds of noisy tourists and won’t get ripped off by tourist traps, you’ve found it! It’s ideal to have your own tuk-tuk or scooter.
