About this house rental
This three-bedroom, self-catering cottage is located in a tranquil area of the countryside, offering panoramic views of the valley and wooded areas.
Chestnut House has a stunning, newly fitted kitchen with an oven/grill, gas hob, fridge-freezer and dishwasher, as well as a dining area inside that seats six.
The bedrooms are stylishly decorated while retaining the property's character, and linen, towels and dressing gowns are included in the price. There are two bathrooms: one with a newly fitted walk-in shower and one with a roll-top bath. Hairdryers are provided, so there is no need to bring your own.
The property is fully heated throughout and has a wood burner in the lounge for those chilly nights. A few pieces of wood are provided free of charge.
Chestnut House has its own private outdoor seating area where you can relax and enjoy the views. There is also an outdoor dining area for six people, perfect for al fresco dining. There is also a barbecue and a swing chair.
For entertainment, there is a selection of board games and books, as well as a TV with English and French channels, free WIFI and a radio.
As part of your welcome, you will receive a complimentary welcome basket containing local Breton biscuits or cider. Tea and coffee will also be provided.
Guests staying four or more nights will also receive a complimentary basket of wood for the fire. Additional baskets cost 8 euros each.
Location and area of Chestnut House:
We are set in tranquil countryside with panoramic views over the valley and wooded areas. We are situated down a quiet lane with no through traffic, close to the centre of Paule where you will find a small bar and a pizzeria near the canal.
We are also only 0.6 miles from the Nantes–Brest Canal. There are plenty of places to go fishing, walking and cycling.
A little further away (1.9 miles) is Glomel, where you will find the beautiful Lake Coronc, which has a small beach and lots of water activities. There is also a bar, a pizzeria and a restaurant.
We are also only a 15-minute drive from the larger towns of Rostrenen and Carhaix-Plouguer, which have a number of bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets.
Further beaches can be found at Lake Guerledan, 13 miles away, which hosts many outdoor activities and has restaurants such as the highly recommended Auberge de Guerledan close by.

* On the day of your arrival, you will need to pay a tourist tax of €1.10 per adult per night. This can be paid in cash or by cheque. The owners will collect it prior to your departure.
