About Our Winter/Spring 2026 Mystery:
One hundred years ago, this property sat in the heart of Lake Erie’s Prohibition-era rum-runner corridor. As the last cottage at the end of the road, it offers a clear view of where the Lake Erie shoreline curves toward the mouth of the Detroit River- a perfect vantage point for smugglers moving goods under cover of night.
But there was once a property beyond here- one that no longer exists. Swallowed by the lake, its story is faded… but not forgotten.
During your stay, you’re invited to uncover the true history of the mysterious missing property and follow a trail of clues left behind by generations of owners said to have guarded a secret for over a century. Solve the puzzle, lift a long-standing local curse, and discover what was worth protecting all those years ago.
The mystery is a self-guided experience for adults of any age, with hints available along the way. It’s designed to be fun, collaborative, and flexible — play at your own pace.
Families with children may choose an alternate adventure: The Mystery of the Sailor’s Stone, a kid-friendly puzzle that explores local lore while searching for a long-lost, treasured object.
Guests who wish to extend their mystery stay to a week-long vacation receive a significant discount!
Good to Know:
PETS: The yard is not fenced, but dogs love the yard and the adjacent conservation beach and trails.
BEACH: The beach and Big Creek marshland are right beside us-the ungroomed beach is perfect for nature lovers. It's not a manicured shoreline- we are just five minutes from the groomed shores at Holiday Beach, and only a quick paddle to Sprucewood Shores winery (who are dog friendly!)
Whether you're looking for mystery, a quiet retreat, a family vacation, or a nature-filled adventure, we are ready to welcome you!
