Hill Top Farm Cottage has a warm modern interior within the shell of an ancient building, plenty of room to sit as a group inside and out, but also to find a quiet space perhaps in the dining room snug or one of the terraces to the courtyard at the front or to the rear overlooking the garden and fields beyond. The curved and knotted beams in the bedrooms, and the weathered brick and stonework in the dining room give a feeling of history and romance.
Guests have commented on how. well-equipped, beautiful and comfortable the cottage is, much larger than they had expected.
There is a fully equipped dining kitchen with separate freezer and fridge plus washing machine, microwave, induction hob , dishwasher, coffee machine and oven.
For working from home there is a good wifi signal throughout the cottage. Zoom and Teams work fine. The HD TV has Netflix and Now TV but you need to login with your details
Note the rear gardens are shared but there is a fenced woodland play area with swings and slide plus climbing wall for children to use. The outside seating areas to the rear and front are also included in the let.
The garden was designed by a Chelsea Gold Award winner, beautifully landscaped with installation of a natural koi pond and waterfall, and is open for charity one day a year as part of the National Gardens Scheme. There is also a fairy/gnome trail in the little wood to the left ofthe field , children love it.
Guest Access
The field lends itself for a vigorous walk and can get accessed from the back garden of the cottage.
There is ample secluded parking in front of the cottage behind electric gates. The historic cottage and park like beautiful gardens are to be admired.
Interactions with Guests
Very happy to show guests around the Chelsea award winner designed garden and to advise on the. many excursions in all directions for National Trust, walking, historic places, shopping,
restaurants and golf.
Other Details to note
Newark can be accessed within Max 10 min by car and Lincoln about 20 min. The area lends itself for cycling and hiking which is literally on the doorstep. The golf club is in walking distance and the leisure complex with swimming pool is a 10 min drive away. There are play farms and adventure playgrounds nearby. The Whisby nature reserve is nearby and several National Trust places. Rufford Abbey with its beautiful garden centre and amazing adventure playground is a must to visit.
Sherwood pines (go Ape) lends itself for an inspiring walk. Do not forget the visit the Major Oak, Nottingham castle and famous pub (a trip to Jerusalem), the Steep Hill in Lincoln. Lincoln Cathedral and Castle. There are many theatres nearby with much to offer and a trip to the seaside is within reach.
