About this house rental
Guest will enjoy the comfort of a colonial country style cottage, with topiary gardens and outdoor seating on the front and back verandah's. Full kitchen, full bathroom with adjacent laundry. Separate toilet next to bathroom.

Railton has the widest main street in Tasmania. Why? A bustling timber town in it's hey day with bullock teams and wagons loaded with timber and potatoes heading for the railway, the local pub was the Bullockie's (the drivers) watering hole and so they needed the space (hence the wide street) to turn the teams around and park. All loading and unloading in those days was done by hand. Very hard work indeed. Cement Australia is home to this giant formerly Goliath Cement. More information on this and other points of interest may be obtained from the neighbourhood/visitor center, on Railton's main street.
Just over 1 hour 15 minutes drive from the cottage to the famous Cradle Mountain with national parkland flora and fauna and various hiking trails. Native wild life in abundance.
