Sunset Bayou is a private waterfront compound on Collins Bayou, with sunset views across Bon Secour Bay. The four-bedroom main house and separate guest cottage sleep 14, so two or three families can stay together with room to spread out.
Fish or watch the sunset from your own dock. Take out the kayaks and rowboat, which are included. Eat on the screened porches. The wooded lot is more than an acre, with parking for six to eight cars.
The Gulf beaches are three minutes away. Jesse's Restaurant is one minute. Kiva Dunes and Peninsula golf are five. Keyless entry makes arrival easy.
PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: This home requires acceptance of the guest agreement below and a refundable $500 security deposit hold before check-in. Entry instructions are sent once both are complete. No pets. Swimming in the bayou is not allowed because alligators are present.
SUNSET BAYOU GUEST AGREEMENT
1. Parties and stay. This agreement is between Velvet Sea, LLC ("Owner") and the guest who made the reservation ("Guest") for the stay shown in the booking confirmation at Sunset Bayou, Fort Morgan, Alabama.
2. Occupancy. No more than 14 overnight guests. No events or gatherings above 20 people without written approval. Guest must be at least 25 and present for the stay.
3. Security deposit. Guest authorizes a $500 hold on a payment card before check-in. The hold is released within 7 days after check-out, less documented costs for damage, missing items, excess cleaning, or rule violations. Guest remains responsible for costs above $500.
4. Entry instructions. The door code is sent once this agreement is accepted and the deposit hold is in place.
5. Waterfront, dock and watercraft. The property includes a dock, open water, kayaks and a rowboat. There is no lifeguard. Swimming in the bayou is not allowed because alligators are present. Water depth, tides, currents, weather, wildlife and submerged objects are natural hazards. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times near the water. Life jackets must be worn in all watercraft. No diving from the dock. Watercraft stay within Collins Bayou and are not used after dark or in bad weather.
6. Assumption of risk. Guest understands these risks and voluntarily assumes them for Guest and every member of Guest's party, including invitees.
7. Release. To the fullest extent permitted by Alabama law, Guest releases Owner and its managers and agents from claims for injury, death or property loss arising from use of the property, dock, water or watercraft, including claims based on ordinary negligence. This release does not cover wanton or intentional conduct.
8. Indemnity. Guest will indemnify Owner for claims brought by any member of Guest's party or invitees arising from their use of the property.
9. House rules. No smoking indoors. No pets. Quiet hours 10 pm to 7 am. Parking for up to 8 vehicles on the lot only.
10. Storms. If a mandatory evacuation order covering Fort Morgan is issued during the stay, unused nights become a credit toward a future stay within 12 months. No cash refund is due.
11. Governing law. Alabama law governs. Venue is Baldwin County, Alabama.
By accepting, Guest confirms authority to accept on behalf of every member of the party.
