The Hanseatic City of Wismar levies a visitor’s tax/overnight stay tax of 5% on the travel price of the booked accommodation. This is not included in the travel price and will be billed separately upon booking. Since the visitor’s tax/overnight stay tax is not based on the number of guests, visitors to the Hanseatic City of Wismar will not be issued a visitor’s card.

Thanks to its central location, it offers the perfect combination of shopping, dining, a Baltic Sea beach vacation in the Wendorf district, or a cultural getaway. The diverse cultural offerings include exhibitions, concerts, city tours, Brick Gothic architecture, and much more. A special highlight is when cruise ships dock in the Port of Wismar. Be sure to enjoy a trip to the Klützer Winkel region with its Bothmer Castle, or take a drive to the state capital, Schwerin, to visit its many attractions, such as Schwerin Castle on Lake Schwerin.
