About this apartment rental

Summary:

I took a perfectly nice little flat on a beautiful street and filled it with great things...I want my guests to feel less like they are at an Airbnb and more like their 'very tidy but quirky friend' gave them keys to the flat for a weekend away.

The Space:

I've used my years of experience as a super-host and interior designer to set up this unique flat. It has all the comforts of home while embracing the quirky charm that only a vintage building can offer.

I believe in high standards of personal comfort, so you'll only find high thread count cotton sheets on the bed (usually a bit wrinkled, as I don't like you enough to iron them), comfortable feather pillows, great mattresses, and thick towels. The bath products are offer are from Public Goods and seem to be universally liked. We also supply a good amount of coffee and some other little amenities to really make you feel looked after.

There are four steps leading down into the space, which will present a challenge to anyone with limited mobility. The shower has a full size bath tub and great water pressure.

Please keep in mind that because my flat is located in a an old urban building on the ground floor, you may occasionally find an errant cobweb or two, in spite of my hardworking staff's best efforts. They clean the flat several times a week but you may still see the work of an enterprising critter pop up during your stay. Please also note that you may occasionally hear some noise from my upstairs neighbors, people using the front door to the building, or pedestrians walking by.

LOCATION

Although shops and restaurants are only a short walk away, the area feels peaceful and secluded. The brown line train is about a 10 minute walk down Montrose avenue, with trains running into the heart of the city and easy transfers to the subway service. I am also immediately beside the Clark street bus, which goes down into the Wrigleyville area.

Within a three minute walk are some great takeaway food spots and a 7-11; the area centered around the Montrose CTA stop has three or four lovely spots to eat and a couple of great bears.

It is about a 20 minute walk down Clark street from the front door of the flat to Wrigley field.

EXCLUSIVE PERKS

During your stay as my guest, you receive a free membership to The Metropolitan, a members-only club and co-working space located on the 66th and 67th floors of the Willis Tower (for reservations

PARKING

Parking isn't included and the streets around us are all either permitted (local residents only) or metered, so make sure not to use those spots. When parking, be sure to check all signs nearby because it's easy to get a ticket when parking rules are broken. For the easiest parking, I highly recommend using a service called SpotHero to reserve a spot nearby before you arrive.

Guest Access:

The entire flat is yours. If you smoke we ask that you go off of the property (not outside of the back door).
