Hygge – Relaxing Under a Thatched Roof
The "Hygge" vacation rental is located in a lovingly preserved historic Frisian farmstead in idyllic Wrixum and is a wonderful place for families seeking peace, coziness, and that authentic island feeling. Freshly renovated in 2023, the apartment combines maritime charm with modern comfort—in the true spirit of the Danish concept of hygge.
This single-level ground-floor apartment accommodates up to four people and a baby. The spacious living and dining area forms the heart of the apartment: bright, cozy, and perfect for shared meals, game nights, or relaxing after a day spent enjoying the fresh North Sea air. The modern, well-equipped kitchen has everything you could want.
Adjacent to it are two lovingly furnished bedrooms—one with a comfortable double box-spring bed, the other with two single beds, ideal for children. The spacious bathroom with a shower and bathtub is especially family-friendly and invites you to relax even after a day at the beach. There’s plenty of room for a crib, so even the youngest guests are well accommodated.
The terrace, complete with a beach chair and patio furniture, opens directly onto the living area—perfect for breakfast in the sun or a quiet evening outdoors while the children play in a safe environment.
The quiet location in Wrixum is ideal for leisurely bike rides with the whole family through the expansive island landscape or to the surrounding villages. In less than 10 minutes by bike, you can reach Wyk with its harbor, promenade, shops, restaurants, wave pool, and long sandy beach overlooking the Halligen. A bakery, restaurants, and a bike rental shop are within walking distance.
A parking space in the garage is available. Cars up to 235 cm wide and 490 cm long can be parked here. Unfortunately, vehicles with roof racks or vans do not fit in the garage due to their height. Pets are not allowed in this apartment.
