Welcome to The Mermaid Lounge Oceanfront Condo on Prestigious Avenue Balboa

Vicki is an incredible host! She answered questions and immediately addressed the few problems we encountered over our 28-day visit. The condo is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning is adequate, especially in the bedrooms. Most post construction air conditioning in Panama is individual units in bedrooms and common areas, not central like in the US. I've heard these units are called "mini splits" and they work great, allowing control of temperatures in individual areas.The views from the living room are great, the city skyline and Panama Bay. You can easily see the ships lined up to enter the Panama Canal. The Cinta Costera, a 5-kilometer bayfront park is across the street. We walked the paved path almost daily and never felt out of place. There are runners, joggers, walkers, cyclists, vendors, children, and many benches. We often walked to Casco Viejo which is about a 20-minute walk. On Sunday mornings one side of Avenida Balboa is closed to traffic and large groups of runners and cyclists use the street. Uber is readily available, usually in a few minutes, and we paid 5 to 10 including tip for almost everywhere we went. The airport Uber was 25-30. Keep in mind that the condo is on the main artery of the city, so there will be traffic noise in the living room, bedrooms are much quieter.In summary: Vicki is a great host, the condo is clean and comfortable, the views are great, the location is great, and we had a very good visit to Panama City.
