Tucked away at the end of a dirt road lies this gem. It’s ideal for those seeking peace and quiet and nature lovers. A wicker chair, a lawn for sunbathing, and seating areas around the house invite you to linger and take in the view of the countryside. The nature-filled property is surrounded by hedges and fenced in. Depending on the season and time of day, you can spot various species of birds and wildlife. On clear nights, the starry sky shines brightly, and you can even see the Milky Way, as there is very little artificial light in the area.
Beaches with dining options, a pier, a swimming area/playground, and a spacious, year-round dog beach are within easy reach, as are the shopping options in Steinbergkirche.
The cozy living area invites you to relax with a couch, armchairs, and a dining area for four people. A crackling fire in the wood-burning stove on cool evenings or when the weather is bad creates a cozy atmosphere. In addition to the TV, there’s also a bookcase/travel library and a game box. SURROUNDINGS
The Flensburg Fjord is located in the western Baltic Sea. The German-Danish border runs through the Flensburg Fjord. At its end lies the fjord city of Flensburg.
The Geltinger Birk is a nature reserve on the Schleswig-Holstein coast of the Baltic Sea. It is located—northeast of Gelting—primarily within the municipality of Nieby on Geltinger Bay at the mouth of the Flensburg Fjord. There are various circular hiking trails. Cycling is permitted in the nature reserve along designated paths.
Habernis is part of the Flensburg Fjord Landscape Conservation Area. The Habernisser Au stream flows through the Habernisser Moor. The Wolsroi spring rises on the outskirts of Habernis. The Fördesteig hiking trail, which stretches from the Falshöft Lighthouse to Flensburg, passes through this moorland area. The Habernis coastline consists of a cliff up to ten meters high and a natural beach with a section designated for dogs. The Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route runs along the coastal stretch near Habernis. Near Habernis is the Habernis Campground, which features a beach lounge.
The fjord is a major sailing area. The Flensburg Fjord Regatta and the Rum Regatta are held here annually. In the bay, sightseeing boats operate on various routes, including from Flensburg to Glücksburg and to Denmark around the Ochsen Islands.
