The booking process through Booking.com was quick, and I received confirmation after payment, which initially gave me confidence in the reservation.

Upon arrival, I was informed that my booking had been cancelled because another guest chose to extend their stay — despite the fact that I had already paid and received confirmation. I was not allowed access to the property at all. This left me in a very difficult situation, as I am not from the area and had already travelled to the location. My car phone was flat, and when I asked for assistance to at least charge my phone so I could arrange alternative accommodation, I was not allowed inside. I had to wait outside the gate while my phone was briefly charged, which made an already stressful situation worse. Due to the refund timeline, I did not have immediate access to my funds to secure another booking. I was forced to travel a further distance under difficult circumstances before eventually finding alternative accommodation.
