Quaint Cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds

The cottage is one of the many wonderful, ancient buildings in splendid Tewkesbury and in the distant past was a hosiery workshop . Although it is only about 20m up an alley off the main street, it is exceptionally quiet and peaceful. The decor is very tasteful, complementing the many sturdy, original beams. The bed was comfortable and the sofa was great for having a good read. In addition to the wonderful Abbey, Tewkesbury has lots of shops (especially bookshops), pubs, eateries and coffee/cake places. We really liked the nearby Kingfisher Fish Restaurant. It is a great centre from which to visit the Cotswolds, Gloucester (good bus route) with its historic Cathedral district and quays, but also the pretty region towards Malvern and its hills.

Although we are in our late 70s and coped very well, the stairs might be a problem for people with reduced mobility.

A very cute cottage right in the heart of Tewksbury with a little courtyard and covered sitting area outside, which was lovely for having breakfasts. And a good washing machine! The owners were lovely and very helpful.

We accidentally turned off the hot water. A little sign on the switch would help!

Location was brilliant. Far quieter than we thought considering is based in the alleyway. Very well equipped and had everything we needed. 😁

No hand rail on stairs, felt a little unsafe going down. Managed with the very low beams, but maybe should be highlighted especially for tall people. Missing TV.

the stairs were very steep and uneven, not really suitable for elderly people. A hand rail would have helped. A tv would also have been an asset.
