The great thing is that this is really not a hostel. It is new and maybe are plans to expand. But right now it is small and cozy. There are only 5 private rooms available. Not dorm rooms. Zhi Gim is located in a residential neighborhood about a 10 minute walk outside the moat. Very quite, only occational moto bikes riding by. The beds have full thick mattresses and nice comforters. The room has AC, a chair and a small table suitable to use with a laptop. The whole place including the shared showers and toilets are nice and always clean.
The location requires a 5 to 10 minute walk for anything, even coffee. The coffee shop downstairs does not open until 9 and does not have any food offerings. Because of this, it would be nice to have a kettle in the room to make hot water for tea or coffee. Maybe they could also add a hook or towel rack to dry the towel instead of hanging over the chair. The place has only been open a few months so it is still early to expect everything to be in place.

Everything was perfect during our stay. The owner is very kind, the location is convenient but still quiet (the way we like it). The room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom is shared but also very clean and well maintained. Also because it is a small guesthouse, we never had to wait for the bathroom to be free to use. The cafe downstairs, run by the landlord's daughter, is a very nice place to hang out : good coffee, beautiful set up, nice fan, cute dog, friendly staff. We definitely recommend the Zhi Gim Hostel if you look for something quiet and clean. If the ambience you want to find in a hostel is the socialising part though, it might not be the best choice.

Nice rooms, enough space, comfy beds, everything was clean, staff was super nice.
One star less because we needed access to the internet and the wifi in the room is not very reliable.
Good to know: you still have to walk about 15 min into town, which we didn’t mind. Renting bikes in town was super handy!
