Tirta Ayu Villa

This villa was super nice, in the middle of the rice fields, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The bed was comfortable and the private pool was such a refresher. Also the villa comes with all the necessaties and has a kitchen if you’d like to cook for yourself. Honestly very good value for the money, for that same price elsewhere I would have gotten a guest house with a shared pool only. Also the host is very responsive and helpful, they will help you get to the villa from where the taxi drops you off with your luggage. You are offered a multitude of paid services such as scooter rental, breakfast, and even massage, at a very good price!

For the drawbacks: - You’ll very much need a scooter. The villa is situated at the end of a small and bumpy road that only scooters can access. And the start of that road is in a no pick-up zone for online taxis such as Grab and Gojek. That said, the host offers scooter rentals at a good price, and will happily arrange your pick-up with a local driver if needed. - Privacy. The villa is situated in a somewhat remote place, away from Ubud’s hustle and bustle. But paradoxically, a few people work in the rice fields surrounding the house and the outside fences don’t block the vision. They are very friendly though. - Something that could be improved would be the villa’s outside lock. It was quite unpractical to close it from the inside without being dexterous, as the mechanism is not really made to be locked from the inside. That said, the villa sits in a place that honestly doesn’t feel like it needs to even be locked. And the lock for the room itself is 100% functional so no worries on that point.
