The apartment smelled a bit damp when closed and you are out for the day and get back

Schon morgens beim Aufstehen das Rauschen des Meeres zu hören und den Blick auf den Atlantik zu genießen ist etwas ganz Besonderes. Gemütlich fanden wir die Abende auf der Terrasse mit einem fantastischen Sonnenuntergang, einem Glas Wein und Feuer am Kamin.

The location is absolutely perfect, and the ocean view was spectacular — definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The staff at the On The Beach Complex were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. The apartment itself was very well equipped with everything we needed. The access to internet and streaming services was a lovely bonus, and the dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer were absolute lifesavers during our stay. We also really appreciated the thoughtful small touches such as coffee, tea, sugar, milk, and cleaning products that were provided on arrival. The privacy and uninterrupted sea view made the stay incredibly relaxing, and we will definitely book again in future.

There were, however, a few small issues that could improve the overall experience even further: • The garage is unfortunately too short for a larger 4x4 double cab vehicle fitted with a bullbar and tow hook. We managed by carefully pushing the vehicle fully against the wall in order to close the garage door. • The garage itself was not very clean upon arrival. • There were not enough towels provided for our family, and we had to purchase additional towels for our child. • Some of the dishes and utensils still had food residue on them and needed to be rewashed before use. • There appeared to be a shortage of blankets, and we could not find extras in the cupboards despite it being a particularly cold Swakopmund weekend. • The bathroom mats still contained hair and may not have been properly washed. • Some lights in the apartment were not working, and there were no bedside lamps in the bedroom, which made reading at night difficult. • A small maintenance item to attend to would be the electrical plug in the en-suite bathroom. Despite these few issues, we truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return again because the location, comfort, privacy, and stunning view far outweighed the negatives.

The view was amazing and the place was compact but breathable. The property manager was prompt and responsive, and they made our stay slightly easier given the challenges we faced with heating.

There was no heating in the whole unit. I had to have back and forth conversations with the property manager for us to receive extra blankets and portable heaters which were barely adequate. There was also an unpleasant smell coming from the shared bathroom. We couldn't figure out if it got stronger when the overhead exhaust fan was on or off, but it certainly took away from the experience. The property manager informed us that there was underfloor heating, but despite all the instructions followed to activate it, it did not come on, and all it did was cause the circuit breaker to trip multiple times. On our last day, the electricity units in the unit finished. This resulted in us packing up in the dark before it was restored.
