Lucy Cross Farm Cottage

Absolutely everything beautiful views and home

Pleasant rural location. Very helpful host.

Some occasional traffic noise from the road but otherwise quiet.

Lots of space, the owner left treats and new toys out for our dogs. It was a perfect getaway for us. You could close the driveway gates to make the property safe for children and pets. Also within easy reach of 3 good pubs serving good food and drink.

I had seen Lucy cross a few times on booking.com and thought it would be an ideal place to try, especially for the location. We were visiting nearby Masham and it is a great base for that area. I was a little hesitant from a previous review however I always speak as I find. It is a great place to stay location wise, it is on a very busy main road, going to be honest this did not bother us, you are in the countryside, you can close the big wooden gate and enjoy the gorgeous views around you. I got the impression that maybe this place is work in progress, as there seemed to be wood or flooring awaiting. The house is large, spacious and great for families, but a little caution is needed on the stairs for kids or anyone not so great on their feet. It has a large kitchen, nice touches left also like cereal & jam etc, always think this is a nice touch. The garden is lovely, great on a summers day or evening to sit and relax, have a glass of wine or read a book. We heard nothing from the adjoining property. The bedrooms were both lovely, both with spacious bathrooms which is ideal when you are two family couples staying together. We would visit again for sure, it's a great budget property with a lot of space and easy parking. Also lovely spot for birdwatching and wildlife!

The garden furniture could be better, it wasn't very comfortable as metal and not ideal for the grass either, no cushions etc. Some rattan or something a bit more comfortable would be perfect for the summer days/nights to sit out and enjoy the surroundings. The kitchen could have had some more homely bits on the unit as seemed empty - again maybe a work in progress. Also think a bigger sofa or a chair to be added in the living room as bit of a squash for 4 adults. We had an issue with the shower (again sometimes this happens in rural areas, but they did offer to come straight round). A few more games etc would be perfect.
