The room and bathroom are almost brand new and very spacious. The bed was massive and the towels provided were nice and fluffy.
Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the room. The amenities are bare-minimum: you get a kettle but no coffee/tea, no toothbrushes, no tissues, and no hangers for your clothes.
My room rate included breakfast, and the menu listed both Western and Sri Lankan options. I asked for the Sri Lankan breakfast on day one, but was told it wasn't available but would be the next day. The next morning, it was still unavailable, so I just skipped breakfast as the Western breakfast wasn’t very good.
The booking was in USD, but when paying in local currency, they applied an exchange rate even higher than the standard bank selling rate. When I questioned this, they claimed it was the rate they use to "buy" USD. (Probably in Black Market).
Interestingly, they offered to drop it to the mid-market rate only when I offer to pay in actual USD cash. This felt incredibly unfair and left a really bad taste in my mouth at the end of my stay.
Great potential because the physical rooms are lovely, but the management needs to fix their currency policies and basic hospitality details.
