Makiling Onsen Hotel

I've always preferred warm or hot baths over cold swimming pools, so I was genuinely excited to discover an onsen-themed hotel in Laguna. I booked a room for four people and was initially pleased with the aesthetics of both our room and the hotel's common areas. Unfortunately, several issues impacted our experience. The in-room onsen wasn't operational, which was disappointing since I had assumed it was included given the room rate. We were able to use the onsen from a different room instead, which wasn't far, but this wasn't what we had expected when booking. The shower also had quite low water pressure, making it somewhat difficult to use. I also noticed that all members of my family began sneezing upon arrival, which made us feel that something in the environment may have triggered this reaction. Furthermore, noise from outside was clearly audible inside the room, making it difficult for me to get a good night’s sleep. That said, the staff were consistently friendly and accommodating. I also appreciated the thoughtful, Instagram-worthy design elements throughout the property, and the onsen concept itself is wonderful and fills a great niche for the area. While there were aspects I enjoyed, I felt the overall experience didn't quite justify the price point. With better maintenance and improved soundproofing, this hotel has the potential to be truly excellent. I hope the management will consider addressing these concerns.
