Villa Citriodora

Great view of the lake. House was very spacious and clean and nicely equipped with all you need. Host is very responsive and helpful in all hours of the day.

The house needs some maintenance - while we were there it was raining and water were leaking from the roof above and onto the stairs which was very slippery and dangerous. During the rain the electric gate of the driveway stopped working because of an electricity problem and we had no way to get out with the car. I Had to stand in the rain with the host explaining to me how to to try and solve it and by luck the neighbor in the shared condiminium was there to help. 2 out of the 5 lights in the stove did not work which made cooking harder for a large group. The lights are weird, some of them in the entrance switch off automatically after a few minutes which made the entrance pretty dark, and in general the house is a little too dark. One of our family members is visually impaired and that was a real problem for us. Hot water in the showers was tricky, the water pressure is pretty low and comes and goes randomally. They did offer us some compensation on our stay for all of these but it still felt the house was over priced with all of these issues. The access to the property is driving up the hill for 15 minutes in a narrow road with very sharp turns. WIth a large car it was very hard to navigate and required pulling back and forth in the middle of the road. The path to the parking of the house is very narrow, it was a little wider then our van which made entry and exit difficult.

The house has the best view in Cernobio. Every room has a bathroom. Air-conditioning in every room. Jacuzzi is nice! Bar Azzurro next door is great for food and drinks and Casa del pane for bread and snacks. The previous guest hd broken ll the glasses (?!) ththise was solved quickly fixed by the super friendly staff. Funny turtle in the garden as a pet.

While the house is beautiful and classy, the silverware, pans and plates are cheap quality. And the kitchen needs renovation. Dishwasher is old and misses buttons...the number of garden furniture is not enough for the number of people.
