Kamala Garden Bungalows, Beach 700m, 8mn Walk

Larger than a hotel room. Close to many small restaurants and convenience stores.

Great bungalows, close to the main street but still quiet.

Peaceful retreat for those seeking a discrete place without giving up the convenience of close by services like restaurants, laundry and massage centres

Location's lovely, the manager was very welcoming and showed us around etc. Space in bungalows is huge with good facilities, shower works great, bed is firm but comfy and air con is super strong. Super close to the main strip and some nice thai and western restaurants just around the corner. Super cheap for what you get as they've just come under new ownership

The main issue was that, on check-out, we were told the owner had demanded that we had to pay 500 BHT (1/3 of the price we paid for the whole stay) or write two reviews (we would have done anyway) because we'd been allowed to check in an hour early. When we initially checked in there was no mention of this, and had it been an issue we simply would have gone elsewhere until check in. Not an issue doing the reviews but the low level blackmailing on check-out was disappointing as we'd had a lovely stay prior to this. From the way it was presented the owner of the hotel was pushing the manager to make us pay or review. Very weird and not at all appreciated, we would have flat out refused to pay frankly. If this hadn't have happened I'd have rated it a 10. Other than that, the only issue was a clanging on the fence during wind but this was mentioned to the manager and an alternative room offered asap so was no issue.
