The house itself is beautiful and located in a lovely area. We genuinely enjoyed our stay and could easily see ourselves returning, especially as my husband and I work in London regularly and were already discussing using it as a regular base.

There are, however, a few points that I feel would improve both safety and the overall guest experience. Firstly, the glass table in the property does not appear to be attached to its base. Initially, we thought the spinning movement was an intentional feature and were quite impressed, until we realised it was simply unsecured. This could present a safety risk for guests who are unaware. Secondly, there is a strong cat odour downstairs and in parts of the garden area. The property would benefit from a deep clean to remove any lingering smells. This is particularly important as some guests may have allergies or sensitivities to cats and may not be expecting this when booking. I also noticed that the neighbour opposite appears to have positioned a video doorbell or camera directly towards the property door. While I appreciate neighbours may have legitimate security concerns, as a woman I found it uncomfortable knowing I was potentially being recorded whenever entering or leaving the house. At the very least, guests should be made aware of this. It may also be worth discussing with the neighbour or considering the installation of the property's own security system, with appropriate information included in the listing. One small additional suggestion would be to provide wine glasses. The kitchen was otherwise well equipped, but having these available would be a welcome addition for guests. Overall, despite these issues, we really liked the property. If the cat odour issue were addressed and the camera concern clarified, I would absolutely stay here again and would happily recommend it to others. In fact, prior to noticing these issues, my husband and I were already saying how much we would love to use the property as a regular base when working in London. .
