The property is in a wonderful location, which we were already familiar with.
The property itself was lovely. We didn’t have breakfast there as we wanted a hot breakfast as we were doing a lot of walking. There was a great cafe in Walkerburn.
We stayed 3 nights and saw the owners for under 10 mins in total. I know they comment that they want guests to feel at home, but it just felt empty. It would have been nice to have been able to have coffee downstairs (to feel at home). The bar was ‘open’ in the pm, but you had to ring the bell to get one.
Although the owners were friendly when we saw them, it all felt very impersonal.
As there are no places to eat in Walkerburn it would have been nice to have had personal recommendations.

Never seen any staff. Must be the most uncomfortable beds ever slept in or tried too,it was someone else staying there that told us where our room was
