The location is fabulous - grounds are extensive and great to take a stroll in, and it's a great walk up the hill to the remains of the castle. There is also great access to the river. The accommodation is very well furnished, well equipped and just a lovely and comfortable place to stay. The people are friendly and easy to chat to, with help on hand if you need it. Walkerburn isn't far and the road there is quiet (you could easily cycle to the Caberston Cafe, for example).
