Everything! The place itself is truly a diamond, it is located in a small town with beautiful beaches, nature and local people. The location of the home is perfect - it is near to both the Blue Beach and Hiriketiya Beach. My room is so clean and comfortable, I always have a good night sleep. The best part is meeting the lovely family of Damith, Madu and their two cute sons. They are the kindest people I’ve ever met, we had really nice conversations in the veranda every morning which I will always cherish. They welcomed me more than just a guest but as part of their family and for that I am very very grateful. I loved every bit of my stay here that I never want to leave (I even extended my stay twice 🤪). Everything is just so special in this place! And the breakfast — amazing! Thank you very much Madu and Damith for your hospitality, thank you for the curry leaves, curry seeds and mangoes for takeway. Thank you also Damith for taking me to the bus station with your scooter 😊 And of course to Madu, thank you for the best conversations and the most delicious breakfast you make for me every morning! I will really miss you all and I will forever remember these moments. I wish you all the best and more blessings in your home. Til we meet again. None at all - everything is perfect it made me so sad to leave! The hardest part is leaving 😭

Our stay in Hikkaduwa was truly something special. We stayed at Samsons, with this wonderful family, who welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that it felt more like staying with friends than at a hotel. Being able to celebrate New Year’s with them and becoming part of their family for a while made our trip unforgettable and gave us memories we will always cherish. We even got the pleasure to meet the real Samson!! :) The room was beautiful, fresh, and very well maintained, the food was delicious, and the location was perfect — right in the heart of the city and close to everything we needed. But what really made this stay exceptional were the people. Their generosity, friendliness, and genuine care made us feel comfortable and welcome from the very first moment. We can highly recommend this place to everyone, we really want to come back in the future! Thank you for making our trip so special!

What a beautiful homestay and family! Madu and her family were so welcoming and helpful, always. The property itself is immaculate - the room was cosy and clean and had great AC. The location is fab, you actually feel like you’re in the local village - rather than surrounded by tourists. Walking to Blue Beach Island is lovely, and I found the ‘Blue Beach Sunrise’ cafe for a coconut on the way which was great too! I do recommend hiring a scooter (it just made it fun and easy to get everywhere) but the walk along the coast to main Hiriketiya is gorgeous too Also definitely request Madu’s coconut pancakes - they are the best!! Thank you Madu and family! 🙏

The only thing we would have loved is easier access to filtered water (as we were trying to not keep buying plastic bottles)

Die Gastgeber waren mehr als freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es war sehr nett, sich mit ihnen zu unterhalten, man hatte wirklich das Gefühl, sehr integriert zu sein. Wir haben unter anderem von der Familie einen Sack frischer Mangos aus dem wunderschönen Garten geschenkt bekommen. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, uns wurden einige Handtücher sowie Shampoo/Duschgel zur Verfügung gestellt und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist abseits von der Hauptstraße auf einem Hügel gelegen, von dem aus man aber innerhalb von ca. 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß ins Zentrum gelangt. Drumherum gibt es trotzdem einige Restaurants/Cafés/Laundry Services, alles aber sehr ruhig.
