Jungle Nook Hiriketiya

Great quiet location. Beach super close and restaurants all walkable. Host was lovely - I felt very safe and comfortable as a solo female traveller! Good wifi & AC. Very accomodating to early or late check in if available. Would recommend and stay again.

Could do with a towel hook to hang your towel to dry. 😊

Nice room! AC worked well, shower was generally hot when desired, I was offered the option to have the room cleaned during my stay. Great being so close to the beach. The host was very responsive and helpful when called upon, and helped organize my ride to the next destination.

The area outside the room was a little less nice than the pictures, but I didn't mind so much because I was mainly there for proximity to the beach. The wifi also stopped working at one point, but was generally good for most of my stay.

The location was fairly central, close to the beach, tucked away in a nice area. Good value for money. A/C worked well, the hosts were very easy to deal with.

A few dogs would bark during the night but you get that everywhere. Our main issue was a smell in the bathroom, it seemed to be coming from one of the drains, the had an extractor fan running in there but it still smelt. The curtains could offer a little more privacy and darkness. The outside lights (when on) were quite bright through the curtain, because there can be numerous other couples around it meant that different people would leave lights on outside.. the curtains were not very good at blocking it all out.

There are different types of room, al older and a newer type. We got the newer type, facing the garden. It was a comfy and clean room. There is airconditioner and a mosquito net, the latter we haven’t seen in any other accomodations. Bathroom has some openings around the walls, but the owner tried to fix it as much as he could, so all in all there were no insects in our room. There is a hot shower with okay water pressure. We liked the central location in Hiriketiya, you can walk to many places from here, super convenient. At night it was very quiet, despite rje central location. The owner, a young man called Vishwa, was very kind and did his absolute best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. He responded quickly if we had any questions. The whole host family lives in the building next door, very kind people and they have a sweet cat. Next time in Hiriketiya, I will not hesitate to stay here again.
