Old Town Castle Apartment

Location was amazing - I had not appreciated how close to the castle it was. Be prepared for bagpipes though, if you are there in high season. Bed was v comfortable, kitchen has everything you need. Also, be ready for it being three flights of stairs up - but then you get a great view of the tattoo

Bathroom is a little tired

Excellent location and a great price. I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

The property was clean but could do with a refresh

Location was brilliant! Halfway up the Royal Mile, very close to Edinburgh Castle. Stepped out the front door into the Mile, surrounded by shops, pubs and adventure. Loved listening to the pub bands at night. Really loved having a washing machine in the room. This was a major selling point for me. Also appreciated having a fridge. I hadn't realised this wasn't the norm in England and Scotland. The bed was very comfortable too.

The apartment was on the 3rd floor, 60 stairs (yes, I counted), up an airless stairwell. Nearly killed me! The bathroom was tiny (I'm not a small person). The couch was broken so we couldn't use it, which just left 2 plastic kitchen chairs to sit on. Unfortunately the apartment was also a bit dirty. The linen and bathroom were clean, but the floors and windows were very dirty. Lots of dust bunnies. We didn't go to Edinburgh to stay in our apartment though, so we just accepted it. It didn't make our stay any less wonderful.

Location

Entering the staircase up to apartment was a shock, floors filthy, paint peeling off walls and cobwebs too. Shabby apartment. Could do with some TLC. Sofa had seen better days, leather? Covering tore away, dirty armrests and very dusty at back of seats. Socket hanging off wall next to TV, beading and skirting boards around flooring all wore away and peeling paint, around whole apartment, shower tied up with plastic back, hinges holding shower screen hanging off wall, top and bottom, black mould around bath. These things didn't give off the best comfortable stay we were expecting. Made it feel dirty and shabby.
