Yongsan Stay near Itaewon, Hongdae, Myeongdong & Gyeongbokgung

The location of Yongsan Stay is excellent — a quiet area in the middle of a busy city, with friendly neighbors and easy access to places like Itaewon, Hongdae, and Myeongdong. The neighborhood is quite hilly, which I personally enjoyed because I like hiking. For travelers with large luggage, I recommend taking a taxi, as it can bring you directly to the apartment. The bed shown in the photos appears larger, but in reality it is approximately 200 × 150 cm, so I would not recommend this apartment for more than one person. The door uses a PIN code, which is very convenient since you don’t have to worry about losing a key. The internet connection was also good, reaching speeds of up to 150 Mbps. Overall, my stay was pleasant, and with a few improvements the experience could be even better: Adding a fan to help with air circulation. Providing English instructions for the water heater. Including a kettle for making coffee or tea.

I recently stayed at Yongsan Stay and unfortunately my experience was not as comfortable as I had hoped. The apartment has no proper windows or direct sunlight, which creates a feeling similar to being in a basement. Ventilation was also an issue — the small gaps in the insect screen allowed mosquitoes to enter at night if the window was open, and I even noticed one cockroach, which may have come in while I was airing out the room. The air conditioner did not cool the room properly. Even when set to 18°C, the temperature stayed around 26–28°C throughout my stay. Because of this, I had to keep the door and window open in the evenings just to get some fresh air. I contacted the property owner to request a fan to help with air circulation, but I did not receive any response, which made me feel that messages on Booking.com were not being checked. Overall, the location is convenient, but the room conditions and lack of communication made the stay less comfortable than expected.

서울역에서 정말 가까워서 이동하기 너무 편했고, 숙소에 들어서자마자 조명과 브라운 색의 인테리어가 정말 예뻤습니다😊 주소가 서울 중심부라 남산, 용산, 명동까지 이동하기가 너무 좋았으며, 침구류도 너무 뽀송뽀송하고 관리가 잘 되어 있어서 대만족했습니다. 또한 주차도 가능하니 예약하시는 분들은 참고해주세요! 잘 머물다 갑니다!

The location was great and convenient, the place was tidy and comfortable, and the host was very helpful and easy to deal with.

The fact that there is no direct window to the outside may be a deal breaker for some people. For me, it wasn’t an issue, but I would note that the single bed may not be convenient if you are a couple or more than one person.

Het apartment is zelf prima en je kan er gemakkelijk binnen komen doormiddel van een wachtwoord systeem. Daarbovenop reageert de eigenaar ook redelijk snel alleen wel volledig in het Koreans wat booking niet vertaald. Daarnaast ook dichtbij het station.

Niemand had me voorbereid op dat het bovenop een berg bevond wat niet aan te raden is met 45kg aan bagage. Er kunnen ook wat rare types rond het gebouw hangen vooral rond de avond en ik had een incident waar er heel hard op m'n deur gebeukt werd in de avond wat aan het begin even schrikken was maar uiteindelijk een gebrek aan communicatie. Het raarste vond ik wel dat de wasmachine vol zat en ik geen bedovertrek of kussensloop kreeg. Dat kreeg je alleen met extra kosten en je moest het zelf doen. Als je je veilig voelt met jezelf en een workout wilt door op een neer te gaan zou ik het aanraden.
