Gràcia Loft Terrace BBQ AC & Fiber Wi-Fi

The apartment is in an excellent location with numerous amenities around and it's in a very friendly bohemian area. Very local based and limited tourists. The property has a lonely sunny balcony, which we enjoyed. Also a massive thank you to Alejandra for her swift, friendly and helpful assistance with lots of things during our stay, including recommendations on activities, expediting faulty air conditioning for repair and arranging a later check out. She is a real asset to the property.

Unfortunately, the apartment didn't really match our expectations from the photos and description. While the rustic decor is great and works from an anesthetic perspective, the core basis of the property is in need of some upgrading / refurbishment in places. While not terrible by any means, with some investment and TLC it could be made better - especially the kitchen fixtures and fittings and the bedroom furniture. The kitchen specifically looks very tired with a stained work surface and we also spotted some broken and loose electric sockets upstairs and in the living area. The loft room doesn't have any storage for clothes, with the cupboard being locked, hence using the minimal clothes storage in the main room was the only option. This wasn't adequate for a ten day stay for three people. Furthermore, be aware that if you are anything over 5 feet tall, you will not be able to stand upright in the loft room. While it is spacious, this issue became quite annoying for a long stay with having to stoop down all the time to walk around and dress. Other niggles were there was no brush or mop for cleaning and the hoover barely worked, plus the iron couldn't really be used due to frayed wires coming out of it. A safety issue! The temperature in the loft room was also uncomfortable at times. While it did improve when the air conditioner was fixed, it still wasn't as good as the main living area or bedroom. This is probably due to the layout of the apartment and obviously heat rising - however, the air conditioner unit is also inadequate for the property size and open plan arrangement. This should be looked into by the landlord, and again, it goes back to making some adjustments to enhance guests' experience from a comfort perspective. There is also no blackout blind in the living room, thus if you sleep in the adjoining mezzanine loft room, you are woken up early by daylight. Thin white curtains are not appropriate here.
