R11 cozy apartment in the downtown of Budapest

Ne-a plăcut dormitul de sus :). Eram la mai puțin de 1 km de Dunăre, în apropiere de toate punctele de atracție.

Location is great, the building is awesome, we felt like in a museum - gorgeous stairs, inner communal balconies, very pretty building with two inner yards which are just fascinating to visit. I also liked the apartment, the living room is spacious and very well organized, cozy and it's pleasant to spend an evening just relaxing there. I liked that there are so many groceries shops around and a little kitchenette gives an opportunity to cook a lovely dinner.

It was a quest to get a key to the apartment and actually to find the apartment itself. First of all, the gates to the building were locked and the host didn't answer my calls so we didn't have a clue how to get inside that building. We got inside only when someone opened the gate and we asked politely to let us in but the feeling was not nice - we looked like we were begging to let us in and that we didn't belong there. When the first obstacle was overcome, it didn't help much as it is a building with 6 floors and there is no instruction where the apartment is! The local man saw how desperate we were he wanted to help but even he, the person who lives in that building, couldn't help us - not enough information on that app, where we had to scan our passports (which also felt like overkill - to scan passports to stay in a flat for two nights!) Then I finally found on booking.com one more piece of info, some word in Hungarian and number 1, that lovely man finally said that we had to go upstairs. But the problem is there is no number of the flat on the door! I walked around, found 2 safes for keys and decided to try the closest one, the code worked and we got the key. In fact, we were afraid we were going to the wrong apartment because there wasn't and probably isn't a number 1 on the door. So it was a quest and not a nice one. Also the plates, pans and cutlery weren't that clean, I had to clean them all before use, especially a pan - there was something sticky inside, yuk! I would recommend the host to have a welcome instruction in the flat with info how to connect to Wi-Fi for example. We got it but it wasn't welcoming, felt like another quest. There were quite a lot of sockets but most of them were blocked with some kind of weird plugs so it was not easy to recharge all gadgets.
