New boutique hotel by Ascott. Resort like feel with pool and outdoor area- small but cozy. Location a little away from the main food attractions but easily resolved with grab rides. Famous duck blood curry Mee is next door. Niangjia nonya restaurant is very nice place for meals too - owner is friendly and has good recommendations for food.

We had a wonderful stay at 1926 Heritage Hotel and were impressed by both the facilities and the excellent hospitality provided throughout our visit. The hotel is conveniently situated within the city, offering easy access to a variety of local eateries and dining options. Several restaurants and food spots are located just a 5 to 10-minute drive away. The building has been beautifully renovated while retaining its heritage charm. Security is well considered, with two separate entry points that require room card access, giving guests added peace of mind. One of the most memorable aspects of the hotel is its thoughtful décor. The walls are adorned with beautiful paintings depicting various Penang attractions, providing guests, especially foreign visitors, with a meaningful introduction to the culture and landmarks of Penang. The reception staff, especially Harraz, were exceptionally polite, friendly, and welcoming. What stood out was Harraz’s ability to remember and address us by name each time we approached the front desk. Such personal attention made our stay feel warm and homely, almost like a homecoming experience rather than a hotel stay. The room was fully equipped with all the necessary amenities. A particularly thoughtful feature was the individual water filtration dispenser, which could dispense water at different temperatures. This was extremely convenient whenever we wanted a warm drink without having to boil water separately. Another thoughtful touch was the provision of a bedside torchlight, which could be useful during emergencies or for navigating the room at night without disturbing others. The hotel also provided a portable clothes steamer, a feature not commonly found in many hotels. This was especially convenient for travellers who wished to freshen up their clothes before heading out, demonstrating the hotel’s attention to guests’ practical needs and comfort. The room itself was very comfortable. The television was large, the air-conditioning worked perfectly, and the bed provided excellent support. Combined with the high-quality pillows, we enjoyed a restful and comfortable night’s sleep. The soundproofing was also impressive, as we could not hear conversations or movement from the corridor, ensuring a peaceful environment throughout our stay. The bathroom experience was equally outstanding. The shower system delivered water at the desired temperature within seconds, and the rain shower pressure was strong and refreshing. The shower gel and shampoo were of good quality and had a pleasant scent. In addition, the room lighting was thoughtfully designed, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere without being overly bright or too dim. Overall, 1926 Heritage Hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort, cleanliness, hospitality, and thoughtful design. With its excellent location, attentive staff, and well-appointed rooms, it is a hotel that I would gladly recommend to anyone visiting Penang and would happily stay at again.

Well designed hotel but perhaps hotel opening was rushed. Lift not working. Doors jammed, shower head leaking, hair conditioner could not be dispensed Staff were excellent though, a big plus point

The property itself is truly worth a short stay it is spacious, bright, clean, fully equipped, and features a stunning pool. However, the room temperature was a huge issue. I fully support eco-friendly concepts, but as a paying guest, comfort and a reasonable room temperature are basic expectations. It was so hot in the room that I was literally sweating. If a hotel wants to promote an 'Eco' concept, providing a ceiling fan or standing fan should be the bare minimum. Apart from being uncomfortably hot, everything else was great, but the heat really ruined the relaxation. Tips：In the hotel have Chinese Cuisine (ROOTS HOUSE by Gen) Beyond the incredible food, this restaurant has a unique soul. Personally, it’s an absolute must-try.
