Great location, 1 minute walk to the nearest Metro station. I appreciated that the unit is on the top floor, so nobody above me making noise. The unit was spotlessly clean, and it had everything I needed for my stay. Getting access to the unit was straightforward. Instructions from the owner were clear. Shower water pressure was good and water was nice and hot. Bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood is lovely and seems very safe to walk around in, even late at night. Although there is a club or bar across the street, even on weekends the noise settled down before midnight. There are lots of food carts, bakeries, restaurants, and cafes within a 5-minute walk from the apartment. The apartment is an easy walk to major tourist attractions, and is also on major Metro and bus routes.
The unit reminds me of tiny apartments in old buildings in other major cities, like in Manhattan's Lower East Side. It's very small and you're going to have the best experience if you don't spend a lot of time in the apartment.
The electrical outlet that the microwave and refrigerator were plugged into was flaky, so every time I closed the refrigerator door the microwave would lose and regain power and beep.
The WiFi is very weak. I couldn't get a reliable connection from inside the bathroom, and I got only a weak connection from inside the bedroom. Even from the living room, the Internet seemed to come in and out frequently. (It never stayed out for more than a minute, but it was a challenge to do videoconferencing or other work that required a sustained connection.)
The entire unit slopes toward one corner. The building seems old, and you can feel it when large vehicles go by.
The windows are single-pane and in a few places are cracked. Also, due to many layers of paint, none of the windows can be fully closed. As a result, the windows don't seal against noise and cold air. The traffic noise (honking, motorcycles zooming by loudly) is pretty bad, but fortunately it settles down after rush hour and at night.
The bathroom is tiny--my knees touched the opposite wall when I sat on the toilet, and I'm not very tall (177cm = 5'10"). Every time the toilet flushes, a trickle of water seeps along the floor and pools in a corner near the shower and where your feet would be if you sit on the toilet.
