Solterra & Vine Estate Accommodation Bendigo

The homestead is just a quick drive from Bendigo and sits in a beautiful spot with views in vineyards and the bush, very quiet and relaxed. The room we stayed in was spacious with a big, lovely bathroom and shower. The common spaces like the kitchen and lounge with has fire were lovely and cozy.

Unfortunately the floor heating in the bathroom did not work and the bathroom was not cleaned properly with hairs sticking to the tiles and door frame. The towels were also not fresh, they smelled like they came from a fish and chips shop, which stank up out whole room. Something that should really looked at is the room door as it rattles every time someone walks past or doors are opened in the hallway. We fixed it temporarily by sticking a piece of carton between the door and frame.

Loved the setting, the room was lovely and clean as was the common areas. The bed was comfy and the heating was beautiful and quiet. It was very peaceful and nice to do the sunset walk around the property during which we came across some fairly friendly kangaroos. The firepit was a great surprise and just the thing for a cool evening. Helpful staff member was on site. We would definitely consider staying again and try the restaurant next time. Whilst our room was really good, I would request our friend's room (No. 6) as it was bigger and had more room to accommodate the medical equipment my husband has to travel with.

The amount of administrative work to deal with just to check in and get access when you have more that 1 room, is not always easily done by us oldies on a phone. I had so many emails I was flicking back and forth through to find the right one. Thank goodness there was a lovely, helpful staff member who helped us out. We had gate & our rooms access codes but missed the building access code.

We loved the location where you felt like you were miles away from the hustle and bussle of city life when you were only 5 kms away from Bendigo. Very relaxing place to visit.

Would have preferred the restaurant to offer dinner rather than just breakfast and lunch as driving back into town after enjoying the country feel in my opinion defeated the concept of getting away from city life.
