Hideaway Cottage

Beautiful cottage.. well equipped and great location ..

Location

A cosy, warm cottage in a peaceful, central location - perfect for my needs for a quiet, solo getaway. Easy on-street parking close by. The bed was super comfy and warm. The kitchen had all the basics that I needed. The cottage was nice and clean with good quality towels provided. Great pub (The White Horse) for evening meals, and friendly service, was only a 5 minute walk away.

Finding the cottage wasn't easy, despite the post code. I had to ask a local man and he told me 'no one' can ever find Hideaway Cottage. Aptly named ? Some instructions for the shower would help. Despite my best efforts, and trying all combinations of the dials, I could only achieve either freezing or scalding water so had to give up and have baths instead. Also, I couldn't log on to the WiFi - not sure if the details provided are accurate ? I was glad I'd brought my own teabags as there was only one left in the kitchen. I've stayed in cottages where provisions were a bit more generous but at least the village store was very close by. A guest folder would have helped - to provide information about the house amenities (eg shower !) and also recommendations for local places to eat/visit. The website says it sleeps 4 but states there's only one bedroom and one double bed. In fact, there are two bedrooms and two double beds.
