Town: Stafford is a historic market town in the heart of Staffordshire, offering a relaxed mix of heritage, green space and everyday convenience. A visit often starts at Stafford Castle, perched on a hill above the town with wide views across the countryside, or at the Ancient High House, one of the largest timber-framed town houses in England. Victoria Park provides a pleasant spot for a stroll beside the River Sow, while the town centre blends familiar high-street names with independent shops and cafés. For essentials, visitors are well covered with supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Aldi all close at hand. Beyond the town, the wider area is well worth exploring. Cannock Chase is nearby for woodland walks and cycling, Shugborough Estate offers grand gardens and riverside walks, and the cathedral city of Lichfield makes an easy day out. Stone and its canal-side pubs are also close by.
