About this house rental
Welcome to the historic Gower Mansion, nestled in Tacoma’s highly sought-after Stadium District—one of the Pacific Northwest’s most charming neighborhoods. Built as the inspiration for the Washington Governor’s Mansion in Olympia, this one-of-a-kind home offers a rich blend of old-world elegance and modern comfort.
With over 5,000 sq ft of living space, the mansion accommodates up to 13 guests across various sleeping arrangements: 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, 1 high quality sofa bed and 5 twin beds (two are extra long twins). Inside, you’ll find a chef’s dream kitchen featuring a Wolf Range with griddle, a formal living and dining room, a cozy breakfast/tea room, a dedicated media room, and five fireplaces (for decorative use only).
Step outside to enjoy five spacious decks, a large patio, and a lush yard complete with a tree fort—perfect for kids! A basketball hoop, expansive front lawn, and off-street parking for 5+ cars make the outdoor space just as inviting. Guests have use of the entire main home and all exterior areas.
Architectural highlights include hand-carved stone details, intricate dentil molding, grand columns, and beautiful views of Commencement Bay. Every corner of the home tells a story—inviting you to relax, entertain, and make unforgettable memories in this remarkable setting.
Important Notes:
• A live-in caretaker resides in a private second-floor studio apartment, completely separate from your living space.
• Two single VRBOapartments are located on the third floor, accessible via a separate staircase.
• All guests (including those in the apartments) share a common lobby and single main entrance.
