Blodge Lodge

A huge thank you to Michael for his warm and incredible welcome. He came to pick us up in the city center and gave us so many great tips about the town, restaurants, and things to see. As for the house, it was pure bliss. There were only two of us, but this space could easily be amazing for a group or a family too! It's spotlessly clean, everything you need to cook is right there, and you truly feel at home. Honestly, I'd love to have a house just like this one! We recommend it 100000%. We would have loved to stay several more days it's so peaceful and relaxing. Thanks again, we hope to come back!!

Absolutely nothing !

The hospitality of the hosts was incredible. Despite unexpected issues with our group that prevented us from arriving on time, the hosts stayed at Blodge Lodge until late in the evening to let us in and show us around. Ikuko even drove us to the local convenience store so that we could get some food as everything else nearby was closed.

Nothing. It was perfect

To begin, the location is breathtakingly beautiful. Right out of the front door are emerald fields of tea in every direction. You can fall asleep on the tatami floor at night while looking out the window and up at the stars. You may see pheasants, great white egrets, blue herons and every sort of butterfly while walking from Blodge Lodge into town, so if you enjoy nature, you will love it. The property was incredibly clean, cozy and comfortable. There is a self-filling bath where you can set the temperature, so it's nice to relax in at the end of the day. The hosts are incredibly kind and give off such a wonderful energy, we had a fantastic time talking with them. There was an "all you can drink" tea section in the dining room, so we had fun experimenting with making different kinds of tea while we were there. We also chose to add on daily breakfasts and a tea tour, which were definitely highlights of the trip! Ikuko's homemade breakfasts were amazing! They were delicious and healthy, and it was fun chatting with her while she prepared the meals. She also made a different kind of tea each day! Michael's tour was both fun and magical - We did a tea tasting with the farmer after harvesting some new leaves, visited a tea museum where we had a beautifully presented and tasty lunch, and enjoyed our time just hanging out. I highly recommend both the breakfast and the tour! And if you're fortunate enough to be there when the hosts are running their weekly pizza shop, it's definitely worth it to stop by for a slice. They even picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station (which was wonderful, considering we had all our luggage with us). Thank-you Ikuko & Michael, we had such a great time and will always remember it!
