Lahat Mines Signature Stay

1. It is clean & spacious. The overall surrounding is quiet and peaceful. 2. The air conditioning in the property was good. TV has good netlix selection. 3. The property has eclectic modern decor. There is a CCTV and auto gate for security. 4. Good quality bedlinen but they need to check the towels - they smelt “funny” - so we used our own towels instead. 5. Owner is accessible & quick to respond. The auto gate was fixed quickly as it was not working properly when we arrived. 6. There is a room upstairs with exercise equipment should one felt inclined to do some exercise.

1. Location: the road to Lahat is dark ( no street lights) and winding. Although the property is located in an (supposedly) upscale neighbourhood, the area generally looks unkempt and not well maintained. There is no security guard although there is a guard house at the entrance of the residential area. No convenience stores or eating outlets nearby. One has to go to Ipoh or Batu Gajah. Good thing that the property has an auto gate - at least, we felt safe. 2. It would be nice if owner could provide some bottled drinking water / tea / coffee. They are not expensive and would be very much welcomed by visitors especially in this current hot spell. So far all homestays / air bnb provide these. What they provided was a big red old fashioned flask ( which my great grandma used to have) presumably for visitors to store boiled water..nobody does this anymore laa 😄 3. The room downstairs - Tried sleeping here…the mattress & pillows are a bit hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. There is a wardrobe but nothing else. A small stool/ table would be much appreciated for visitors to place their mobile/ keys etc. We had to put our stuff on the window ledge and the window has no blinds or curtain. The bathroom is in the kitchen area. So one has to walk out past the dining room and go to the kitchen (to go to the bathroom). So don’t use this room if you need privacy. 4. Not proactive: We were only informed just before we arrived that we need to pay a deposit before we could get instructions on how to enter the property. We don’t mind paying a deposit but advanced notice should be given so that we could plan ahead. As we were travelling during the long holiday break, roads were jam packed and we got stuck for hours on the road. So weary travellers don’t appreciate last minute requests. Also, we only got our deposit back 2 days after we checked out and that was only after we reminded them. They had forgotten about our deposit !
