Shangri-La Boutique Farmhouse Mangalore Airport

Where do I start... Rashmi, our host, was brilliant right from the moment I made our booking. Delightfully helpful, she got back to me straight away during our initial, logistical contact & helped me book a taxi from Mangalore airport to her abode. My friend Priscilla and I booked two separate rooms due the our different times of arrival (which wasn't a problem for this glorious family - Rashmi, her daughter Tashi and also her wonderful mother - Three generations of fantastic & kind women!). I was welcomed with such warmth and generosity - and a very large delicious home grown coconut! What this family have created is a superb homestay. The house and garden are magical. It also appealed to my passion for sustainable living, The garden grows an abundance of fruits and vegetables which my friend and I were blessed to sample. The grandmother cooked me one of the most sumptuous meals for my supper. I felt truly honoured. And then again, breakfast was incredible! A huge array of their fruits and homemade delicacies. And definitely worth saying "YES PLEASE " to a "Whipped Up" Rashmi morning coffee...It's uniquely delicious! Thank you so very much, Ann Wenn My flight was delayed and I didn't get in to Mangalore airport until.midnight. Rashmi organised my pick up from tbe airport (15 minutes away) and then fed me a delicious meal at 1am, Beds were wonderfully comfortable and the rooms spacious and light. My only regret is that we stayed in this slice of paradise for such a short time. We are determined to return for longer next time. Thank you. Priscilla

There's nothing I didn't like or appreciate

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous farmhouse near Mangalore airport. We originally booked one night and chose this place as it was near the airport and convenient for us after a late evening flight arrival. The family were kind enough to prepare a delicious spread for dinner on our arrival including fruits from their trees! Breakfast was equally as delicious and there was so much variety and options. The farmhouse itself was a beautiful building with interesting architecture and nicely furnished. We had the upstairs room and it was very spacious and clean. We really appreciated the small touches like having a kettle, tea, biscuits and lots of bathroom amenities like toilet paper, toothpaste, cotton ear buds and even a sewing kit. These small touches make a huge difference. We had such a wonderful time that we returned for another night a week later to enjoy more of the veranda and beautiful garden views and the tasty food. The daughter Tashi was even so kind as to show us around Managlore herself which was just a wonderful experience and above and beyond anything I would expect from a homestay. This is one of the best places we've stayed in India and I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful stay near Mangalore and Mangalore airport.
