My family’s first stay in a renovated historic building and it was fantastic! Everything was beautifully done. Perfect location. It looks like it should have been on an HGTV special.
There was some confusion about the check in procedure since there was no one on site but it was taken care of after a quick email. Someone called me back right away.

Very clean, nicely decorated, beautiful old design. The smell was nostalgic in a fabulous way.

The rooms are fantastic. Huge with the original (creaky) floors of the the historic building it comes from. Multiple 70+ inch TVs, recliners, heated bathroom floors, huge showers, and other "cool" amenities that make this perhaps the most "well-appointed" hotel room ever.
These "cool" things all have remote controls which require either a PhD to figure out or new batteries to operate correctly. There is no on-site staff. My calls for help (like when my door code would not work) were not always answered by a human. Oh...a small thing but...why no Kleenex/facial tissue? Why no housekeeping until you leave? The room comes with a washer and dryer!...a handy thing if you want fresh towels over a 3 day stay. This could be one of the best rooms ever...anywhere...but lack of some things keeps it from being that. Its the best in Batesville, AR, and I'll probably stay here the next time we visit family in the area. It could be so much more...
