Dark, quiet unit of a single family house/shed within a short drive of the main street
Our host was very nice and available in one of the other units of her house. We had a difficult time using the entry system - the lock was like an electronic game with rotating reappearing numbers that I somehow kept messing up, but the host helped. Toiletries were not originally provided, but within a couple hours of request, she picked up some nice/private ones for us. The unit was not new, but it did have some new paint despite a few wall/tile cracks. These were the perks of staying here. Unfortunately, we were so upset staying here but waited a couple weeks to temper our opinion before writing. I feel bad, as there is so much for the host to learn about having guests (felt like an inexperienced Airbnb find, but with the host living next to you and unsure of what to do when common problems pop up).
Note: We did not enjoy staying here (these are attached/detached remodeled backyard shed units of a neighborhood single family house with dog, dark neighborhood and property, and large shower/bed windows onlooking others without blinds).
1) Bait and Switch Units: (downgraded from garden kitchenette lg bed to a plain white small room with only a tray table + bed, poor view onlooking another unit, mislabed square footage since 1/3 our shed unit was locked for storage, and no compensation/refund difference for the downgrade). Only the nicer room was available to book, then suddenly they switched us (reason: remodeling) to this other poor room, which was likely always available. Given that it was hours from our arrival, we did not change it - we were still livid. Also, no easy cancellation option was given upfront other than to please contact Booking.com, explain the situation, and work for a refund. Better options were available at the time of booking at the same price.
2. No Privacy: The bathroom and bed area are exposed to all the other outdoor units, with no curtains nor shutters on the large windows. You can easily be seen by other guests/users. This was extremely strange to not have basic privacy.
3. Location + Lights: The accommodation looked close to the town, but really it is NOT walkable at night given how very dark the long road is to town (and some scary punk neighbors). Bring a flashlight if you want to enter the property; there are several low tree branches in the middle of the path we hit. Note when you get into the backyard, if activated, light(s) do come on, but then they blind everyone trying to sleep. We were tired of the mild wind activating our light while sleeping. After 20 minutes, we were able to get it off; it's tricky. There is also no wall switch for inside lights near the front door; you need to go to the far sides of the room to turn any light on/off.
4. Cleanliness: Mild. Hair/dried stuff on toilet + some dust bunnies. Hot/cold reversed. Toiletries should be automatically there. One wash cloth towel for two people. I decided not to shower.
5. Hospitality: Lacking. Nothing labeled except WiFi. Needs furniture.

Very clean and quiet property. Being at Sedona town center, it is super close to major tourist attractions and good restaurants.
